1969-2019: Celebrating 50 years of IOM
IOM50 is a programme that celebrates 50 years at the forefront of scientific research to understand and mitigate a range of occupational and environmental health risks.
Since the day the Institute started in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1969, we have sought to bring about an improved understanding of the factors affecting human health and to identify, promote and apply practices that will lead to improvements in the health of workers and the wider population.
Throughout the year, we intend to mark our scientific achievements and the impacts these have had through a series of events and materials.
