We seek to bring about an improved understanding of the factors affecting human health and to identify, promote and apply practices which will lead to improvements in the health of workers and the wider population.

Our service and consultancy work delivers objective, independent assessments of workplaces and benefit-led recommendations, whether derived from desk-based consulting or the review of site-based measurement and analysis. Our technical teams identify areas of poor practice which may need attention, and provide clear recommendations for improvement. Our methodology, reporting and recommendations are precise, to the point and practical.

Many of our scientific staff, past and present, are internationally recognised as leading thinkers in their subject areas. Our senior scientists have acquired a broad grasp of several sciences as well as their speciality, and this collaboration has been behind many of the fundamental advances made over our history.
