Director of Performance, Culture and Delivery
Michelle has over 20 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, predominantly within the retail sector. As a senior professional she has demonstrated leadership and success with specialised knowledge and experience managing the unique challenges and needs associated with complex organisational structure. These include hands-on expertise across all HR functions including strategic planning, payroll, workforce efficiency, systems development, organisational development, learning & development, retention, benefits, and employee relations. She has also been recognised for developing programmes and processes which improve efficiency, profitability, competitive positioning, and operations across all organisational levels.
She joined IOM in January 2018 and is wholly responsible for the people function including employee engagement, leadership development, recruitment & retention, systems development, employee relations, policy development and internal communications. Michelle is also the Chair of the board for Childcare Connections a registered charitable organisation providing affordable childcare to working parents in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians. As Chair of the board, she actively leads and participates in the strategic decision making of the organisation, business planning for the future, tendering for council funding, supporting the management of any employee relations issues/business reorganisation requirements etc. This role is undertaken on a voluntary basis.
