When evaluating workplace, equipment or personnel problems we take an evidence-based approach to our work, drawing on the wealth of scientific research which underpins our ergonomics knowledge and expertise.
The same expertise is used to identify cost-effective solutions based on best practice and our extensive experience.
We will advise about how best to comply with relevant legislation or standards.
The Ergonomics and Human Factors team at IOM is multi-disciplinary. It comprises ergonomists and psychology professionals, and they frequently work with our occupational hygiene and safety team. All staff are members of their associated bodies; the ergonomists are members of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, for which IOM is a registered consultancy and the psychology professionals are members of the British Pyschological Society.
The team have a high level of experience across a wide range of industries, from office work to offshore environments. Our skills include workplace and equipment assessment, environmental assessment, evaluation of wellbeing, evaluation of psychosocial risks, physiological monitoring, compliance assessment, and expert witness reporting.
