About Dr Alan Dickson Jones
Alan is a Senior Consultant specialising in occupational hygiene, asbestos and the health risks associated with exposure to fibres. He has over 30 years of experience in health and safety, with a particular focus on asbestos and other mineral fibres.
Alan provides specialist advice on asbestos-related health risks, including retrospective assessment of likely exposure. His work combines scientific research with practical consultancy to help clients understand historical exposure and its potential implications for health.
He has led European collaborative research into asbestos sampling techniques and an IOM team developing European guidance on best practice to prevent or minimise asbestos exposure. Alan has published more than 100 scientific papers and reports, the majority relating to asbestos and other fibres.
