We’re pleased to announce that IOM Consulting Senior Consultant Jason Hodgkiss has been appointed President-Elect of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).
BOHS is the Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection, working to advance occupational hygiene and prevent work-related ill health.
Jason supports our Expert Witness team and has more than 30 years of experience across occupational hygiene, environmental consultancy and asbestos management. He is a Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Scientist, Specialist Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene and Fellow of the Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management.
A BOHS member since the early 1990s, Jason has contributed to the Society in several roles, including as a Regional Organiser and member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene Committee.
Speaking about his appointment, Jason said:
“I’m honoured to have been elected President-Elect and look forward to supporting Sarah and the wider BOHS community.
“Occupational hygiene has a critical role to play in preventing work-related ill health. There is still an important opportunity to ensure health receives the same attention and priority as safety across all industries.
“I’m looking forward to helping BOHS build on its work to advance standards, support the profession and ultimately protect more people at work”
Michelle Reid, Managing Director of IOM Consulting, added:
“Jason’s appointment is a fantastic achievement and reflects his expertise and commitment throughout his career.
“Protecting people from workplace health risks is at the heart of what we do at IOM Consulting. We’re proud to see Jason helping to shape the future of the profession and raise the profile of occupational hygiene and workplace exposure.”
Jason will serve as President-Elect alongside newly appointed BOHS President Sarah Leeson.
