SWeRF analysis and dustiness testing are relevant in the context of general material characterisation used to support regulatory compliance for bulk powders, so that handling and exposure risks can be evaluated, controlled and minimised.
Providing appropriate material characterisation data can support timely registrations under the EU REACH Regulation and help achieve regulatory compliance. In addition, SWeRF analysis is essential for manufacturers of mineral products containing respirable crystalline silica to inform whether hazard classification is needed under the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
