Advising the European Parliament

In 2007, IOM began work with the European Parliament to provide independent expert advice on a variety of emerging issues within the field of health and safety at work to the Employment and Social Affairs committee.

This appointment was seen to both strengthen the committee’s knowledge and provide a solid basis for the committee’s own initiatives. IOM’s particular focus within the appointment was to explore the new forms of physical and psychosocial health risks associated with work, and their long-term health impact.
