The sources of risk to health associated with new technologies in the office environment
This paper is a work-in-progress which presents the background research and describes the search strategy adopted for a systematic review of the literature on the inherent risks to health for people who are working with ‘new’ display screen equipment (DSE). There is a general understanding that computer work and work with traditional DSE has a relationship with symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) and discomfort. However, clear and robust evidence to support this ‘knowledge’ is quite sparse.
