Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at South Kirkby Colliery 1980/81
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations at South Kirkby Colliery for the period April 1980 to March 1981 inclusive. Information regarding methods of working, output, dust suppression and manpower is also given. Composition of dust to be reported later,Total dust concentrations underground are tabulated; and for the coaling shift were, on average, six times as high as respirable dust concentrations.The Colliery coalface respirable dust mean concentration was 4.0 mg/m3.
