This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Oakdale Colliery for the period 5th April, 1970 to 3rd April, 1971.The colliery had a coalface mean respirable dust concentration of 4.3mg/m3. The mean ash content of the respirable dust was 25 per cent and the mean quartz content 2.8 per cent (concentration 0.12 mg/m3 ) Information regarding methods of working, outputs and manpower is also given.Total dust concentrations are tabulated and, on average, were eight times higher than respirable dust concentrations.
