Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Lady Victoria Colliery, 1971

This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Lady Victoria Colliery for the period April, 1971 to March, 19720 Information regarding seams worked outputs, methods of working, dust suppression and manpower together with the associated dust concentrations is presented in a series of face charts.At Lady Victoria Colliery the coal face mean respirable dust concentration was 2.8 mg/m3. The mean ash content of respirable dust sampled was 39 per cent and the mean quartz content of the ash 27 per cent, representing a concentration of 0.29.
