Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Fryston Colliery, 1973/74
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions for the period April 1973 to March 1974 at Fryston Colliery.As in 1972/73, dust measurements were obtained using the M.R. E.Gravimetric Sampler, Type 113A operated by volunteer carriers. The colliery had a mean coalface respirable dust concentration of 3.7mg/m3. The mean ash content of samples was 51. 1 per cent and the mean quartz content was 5. 7 per cent (quartz concentration, 0.21mg/m3). “”
