Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Fryston Colliery, 1972/73
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Fryston Colliery for the period April, 1972 to March, 1973.As in 1971, dust measurements were made using the M.R.E. Gravimetric Sampler, Type 113A. Volunteer carriers operated the sampling instruments. The colliery had a mean coalface respirable dust concentration of 4.I mg/m3; the mean ash content of the dust was H6.0 per cent and the mean quartz content was 5.2 per cent (mean quartz concentration of 0.27 mg/m3). “”
