Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Cynheidre 3 Colliery, 1974/75
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Cynheidre 3 Colliery for the period April 1974 to March 1975.Information regarding the seam worked, output, method of working, dust suppression and manpower together with the associated dust concentrations for the only face worked is tabulated. At Cynheidre 3 Colliery, the coal face mean respirable dust concentration was 1.9mg/m3. The mean ash content of the respirable dust was 17.2 per cent and the mean quartz content 2.1 per cent, representing a concentration of 0. 04mg/m3.Total dust concentrations were, on average, 11.4 times as high as the respirable dust concentrations.
