Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Coventry Colliery, 1975/76
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Coventry Colliery for the period April, 1975 to March, 1976. Information regarding methods of working, outputs, dust suppression and manpower is also given. At Coventry Colliery the coalface mean respirable dust concentration was 4. 2mg/m3. The mean ash content of the respirable dust samples was 31.7 per cent and the mean quartz content 2.6 per cent (representing a quartz concentration of 0.llmg/m3).Total dust concentrations underground are tabulated and on average were approximately six times as high as respirable dust concentrations.
