Inertial deposition of particles in the lung
Initial results on the inertial deposition of aerosol particles in simple bends are reported. Reference to the literature has revealed an error in the interpretation of previous experiments. This has led to incorrect estimates of particle deposition in the human lung. The implications of this error are discussed.
