Environmental conditions at South Kirkby Colliery, July 1967 to May 1968. (Gravimetric dust concentrations)
This report tabulates the dust concentrations in mg/m3 for the period July 1967 to May 1968, covering the Gravimetric Sampling Trial at South Kirkby Colliery. For each occupational group, the concentration of the respirable fraction of the airborne dust is listed. Concentrations of mineral constituents of the samples are also given. Where estimates have been required, the sources of these are stated.South Kirkby Colliery had a Coalface (all shifts) mean respirable dust concentration of 6.6.mg/m3 containing 52 per cent mineral matter. The coalface mean quartz concentration was 0.53 mg/m3.
