Environmental conditions at Deep Navigation Colliery, 1968
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations in mg/m3 for the period May-November, 1968 at Deep Navigation Colliery, and is the first report for this colliery in which all dust measurements have been made using the M.R.E. gravimetric sampler only.Information regarding methods of working, outputs and manpower is given. For each face occupation, concentrations of respirable dust, together with ash and quartz concentrations are listed.Deep Navigation Colliery with one hand filled coalface and the remainder mechanised, had a coalface (all shifts) mean respirable dust concentration of 5.6 mg/m3. The mean ash concentration was 1.08 mg/m3 and the mean quartz content of the dust was 2 .2 per cent (concentration 0.13 mg/m3). “”
