Environmental conditions at Coventry Colliery, June 1965 to March 1968 (Gravimetric dust concentrations)
This report tabulates the dust concentrations in mg/ni for the period June1965 to March 1968 covering the l6th-19th Environmental Surveys and the Gravimetric Sampling Trial at Coventry Colliery. The method of converting the concentrations previously quoted in particles/cm3 to mg/m3. is described. For each occupational group, the concentrations of the respirable fraction of the airborne dust, its ash content and mineral constituents are listed. Where estimates have been required to fill gaps in the data, the sources of these are stated.Coventry, a fully mechanised colliery, had a coalface (all shifts) mean respirable dust concentration of 2. 5 mg/m3. containing 41. 0 per cent ash.The mean quartz concentration was 0. 11 mg/m3.
