Anthropometry in mining

At present there is no anthropometrie data set that is widely used throughout the mining industry. The purpose of this study was to compare the data from published British anthropometric surveys and data handbooks with the limited anthropometric data available from the Pneumoconiosis Field Research Surveys to asses whether one of the published data sets could be applied to mining. Anthropometric data from a survey of CEGB power station workers were selected as the most applicable in the design of mining machinery and workspaces, and are described in Appendix 3.
