Quality
The Institute of Occupational Medicine, including our wholly-owned subsidiary IOM Consulting Ltd, is fully committed to providing a quality service across all Divisions and locations within our business: Asbestos, Analytical Services (Laboratory), Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Health: Edinburgh, London, Stafford and Chesterfield.
IOM holds extensive accreditation from a number of industry recognised bodies.
UKAS - United Kingdom Accreditation Service
IOM first achieved UKAS accreditation for optical fibre counting and bulk asbestos identification in 1988 and we have since increased the scope of our accredited work to cover a much wider and more diverse range of activities.
These include areas such as Personal Protective Equipment, Chemical & Mineral analysis, Occupational Hygiene and Asbestos Building Surveys and Air Monitoring.
In 2010 we successfully added Asbestos Quantification in Soils and Airborne Microbiological Sampling to the scope of our accreditation.
To access the current Schedules of Accreditation for IOM, refer to the UKAS website under Testing Laboratory No. 0374 (ISO 17025) and Inspection Body No. 0171(ISO 17020).
