Occupational Health
The IOM provides high-quality occupational health services that efficiently and effectively address clients' needs. Our services include health screening, health surveillance and specialist examinations and advice relating to individuals. We also help with corporate occupational health issues such as occupational health needs assessments.
We have a team of well-qualified occupational physicians, occupational health nursing advisors and technicians with experience of a wide range of industry sectors. We are able to provide appropriate services to meet the needs of our clients, either on site or at our premises.
Our occupational health services include:
-
Pre-employment and pre-placement assessments
-
Whether your workers are required by law or by regulation to be assessed before starting work, or whether you simply want to make sure that you can safely place workers in an environment that is suitable to them, our pre-placement assessments can help. Whether by questionnaire or face-to-face assessment, we can bring to your attention potential issues so that you can consider appropriate adjustments to help reduce the risk of health and safety issues developing over time.
-
Fitness for work assessments
-
In addition to providing a service to managers who are concerned about sickness absence amongst individual employees, we can also provide an equally personalised and supportive case referral service for managers concerned about an employee’s fitness for work. For example, if you are concerned about an employee’s performance we can help you exclude the possibility of a health issue that could be impacting on their work capacity. Where an employee’s effective conduct of their duties is important for the safety of other’s our opinion on fitness for safety critical work can contribute to the safe working of the wider workforce.

IOM Occupational Health prides itself on providing a supportive framework in the delivery of a referral service for managers. If you have a case where health and work issues are causing or likely to cause sickness absence, then IOM’s occupational health assessment and report service will help you understand the medical situation. We work hard to provide a personalised service; where businesses wish to build up a relationship with their medical advisers; where access to help is only a phone call away and where our clinical staff are happy to discuss the value of making a referral where it is unclear and where providing any necessary clarification on our written reports is all part of the service.
