Surveys and Consultancy

At IOM we undertake surveys and analysis to assist local authorities, developers and other businesses in the protection of workers and the public from the hazards associated with the presence of asbestos in soil.

Many brownfield (and some greenfield) sites contain the residues of asbestos from previous buildings or as a result of tipping. We help Local Authorities to meet their obligations under Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, and employers to meet their obligations under CAR (2012) and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Our services include undertaking quantitative risk assessments to assist our clients in decision-making and providing advice on safe methods of work for contaminated sites.
