WHO/EURO: man-made mineral fibre counting

In 1981 a committee was convened by the World Health Organization's European Office (WHO/EURO) to harmonise measurements of synthetic mineral fibres in European workplaces. One of its products was the WHO/EURO Reference Scheme, a proficiency testing scheme for laboratories measuring airborne man-made mineral fibres (MMMF).

The WHO/EURO scheme operates by sending out two batches of test samples each year. Participants receive reports enabling them to compare their performance with other laboratories internationally.

An application form is available to download, which gives times and prices of the latest rounds. If you wish to join the WHO/EURO scheme, download this file and return the completed form to IOM.

You can also obtain a list of current participants.
