ETNO-UNI europa Project Good Work Good Health
IOM has been contracted to carry out a project on behalf of the European Telecommunications Network Operators Association (ETNO) http://www.etno.be/ and UNI europa, the European trade union federation for skills and services http://www.uniglobalunion.org. The work is funded by the European Commission.
The aim of the project is to collate evidence on good practice in managing mental wellbeing in the workplace to enable the telecommunications industry in the EU to develop guidelines. The project is in two phases, the first is a review of published guidelines and evidence reviews to identify the following factors
- Work factors associated with impaired mental health
- Work factors associated with enhanced mental wellbeing
- Work arrangements shown to mitigate the effects of or facilitate the rehabilitation of people with mental illness
- From the review work, a template will be developed to help identify examples of good practice in the telecommunications industry. Researchers will visit a sample of telecommunications companies across the European Union to identify good practice in action.
The review and survey work will be collated into a comprehensive report that will be used by ETNO and UNI europa to develop good practice guidelines for the Telecommunications industry in the EU and beyond. The guidance will be translated into a number of EU languages and will be launched at a conference in Belgium in October 2010.
