Dr Salim Vohra recruited as Director of the Centre for Health Impact Assessment (IOM-CHIA)

IOM is pleased to announce the recruitment of Dr Salim Vohra, one of the UK's leading experts in Health Impact Assessment. Salim will develop and direct a new Centre for Health Impact Assessment (IOM-CHIA), which will be run out of the IOM's London Office.

CHIA will focus on environmental and occupational health and wellbeing.

The vision of CHIA is to be an international centre of excellence for:

  • HIA theory and practice
  • Evidence-based analysis of the impacts of policies and programmes on health
  • Understanding the wider determinants of health and wellbeing
  • Healthy urban planning and development
  • Tackling environmental and health inequalities
