Andrew Maynard joins SAFENANO as Guest Expert
SAFENANO
IOM's SAFENANO initiative is pleased to announce the publication of its October Feature article "Is Exposure to Engineered Nanomaterials a Myth?" written by Dr Andrew Maynard, Chief Science Advisor to the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
In his well argued article, Andrew addresses the critical issue of nanoparticle exposure as nanotechnology moves from the lab to the workplace. Specifically, he considers whether exposure to single airborne nanoparticles is plausible in workplace environments, given the rapid aggregation characteristics of these aerosols. Maynard is an aerosol scientist of international reputation and has been one of the leading commentators on nanoparticle risk issues over the last five years. We are delighted that he has chosen SAFENANO to publish his latest article.
In addition, Andrew has also agreed to write a regular guest blog for the SAFENANO community site. We look forward to many more though-provoking publications in the months to come.
