European Chemicals Agency contracts with IOM and partners on implementation of REACH
IOM, in collaboration with a number of partner organisations led by ENTEC, has secured a framework agreement with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to provide support in the implementation of REACH.
The first phase of 4 contracts has been awarded for the purpose of gathering information on those substances identified as 'substances of very high concern' (SVHCs), for inclusion in Annex XIV because of the risks that they pose to human health or the environment. ECHA have asked for information on the manufacture, import, export and uses of the substances also on potential alternative substances and techniques that could be used instead of these substances.
The information provided by IOM and partners will provide a valuable resource for ECHA in providing guidance on the prioritisation of substances for inclusion on Annex XIV. Further information on how IOM can support your business in the implementation of REACH can be found at
