SAFENANO information service secures continuation funding
SAFENANO, a nanotechnology environment, health & safety initiative based at the IOM, has secured continuation & development funding for its information service.
SAFENANO, the UK’s premier resource on nanotechnology health & safety, is this week pleased to announce procurement of continuation funding for its Information Service - www.safenano.org
Originally funded by UK Government in 2007, the SAFENANO Initiative aims to enable industrial and academic communities to quantify and control potential risks from nanotechnology to their workforce, as well as to consumers, the general population and the environment.
Following three successful years, SAFENANO.org is now recognised internationally as a key resource for the nanotechnology environment, health & safety (EHS) information, and has also launched an associated service-based business, SAFENANO Scientific Services.
SAFEANANO is now pleased to announce receipt of a continuation and development grant from the UK’s Technology Strategy Board. Over the coming year, the funding will be used to streamline SAFENANO’s current provision, and develop additional resources to enable improved access to the latest developments in nano EHS.
“I am delighted that we are able to continue the implementation and development of SAFENANO,” said Rob Aitken, SAFENANO’s Director “in this next phase we will build on the excellent work done so far by improving both the content and interactivity of the site, to continue to provide the nanoEHS community with the information it needs to ensure responsible development of nanotechnologies in a format which is accessible to all,” he said.
