IOM scientists contribute to a major new textbook on Environmental Medicine

A brand new international guide to the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of environmentally-acquired disease has recently been published. Four of IOM's senior scientists have contributed to the work, which is aimed at anyone with an interest in environmental health issues, but particularly from a clinical perspective. This is a unique reference that brings into clear focus the increasing importance of the practice of environmental medicine.

Hot topics covered included in the book are H1N1 influenza infection, climate change, air pollution, food contamination, antibiotic-resistant infections and the health effects of air travel. The IOM authors contributed a chapter on Chemical Exposure Assessment and a second on Health Impact Assessment. These topics are two major elements of our research and consultancy activity in relation to environment and health issues.

The book is available from Amazon and all good bookstores.
