Introduction of COHORT software
The Occupational Health division has recently installed a specialist database and reporting tool for the management and recording of activity within the division. COHORT is produced by Tempus Software, and is a leading occupational health-specific IT solution.
The software, which is used by the National Health Service and by a number of occupational health providers will enable the division to pursue opportunities and tenders previously barred due to our limited data capture and recording capability. The functionality of the system provides for both on line pre-placement checks, and on line referral. COHORT is an end to end solution, enabling automated appointment booking, e mail and letter confirmation and correspondence in template format and giving our clients visibility of progress throughout the pre-placement or referral process. For the Occupational Health team it means less time spent creating or data inputting into spread-sheets, and a more efficient way of producing client letters and reports. For our clients there will be greatly improved management information reports, key performance data and the opportunity to benchmark against other businesses or sectors.
Over the coming weeks the team will be working hard to learn and develop COHORT as a solid foundation for our business going forward. We shall also be selling the concept, functionality and benefits to our clients as part of our on-going service solution.
This is a considerable investment by the IOM; it is a significant enhancement to our service capabilities, to securing our future health surveillance pipeline and to demonstrating our commitment to a high quality, client focussed, advanced occupational health service.
