CIRIA Asbestos in Soil Project

CIRIA has announced the start of its project on asbestos in soil. The project is aiming to produce a guide to managing and understanding the risks of asbestos in soil and on Brownfield sites.

The project will be carried out by a team comprising colleagues from the IOM and Land Quality Management Ltd.

The project aims to improve risk assessments on sites where soil could be contaminated by asbestos. The project will assist professional advisors, land owners, developers and regulators assess and manage the potential for asbestos soil contamination in Brownfield sites and under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
