Bakers – time to clear the air!
The HSE recently warned that thousands of British bakers could be at risk of developing a debilitating respiratory condition unless they take sensible precautions.
Persons exposed to flour and other bakery dust are at risk of developing occupational asthma unless sensible precautions are taken.
If you work in a bakers you may receive a copy of the HSE’s pocket card giving details on how to project yourself and your workers.

We can assess the risks from the various activities involving flour dust; measure actual exposures; advise on the most appropriate control measures, including respiratory protection; and provide health surveillance to those who may be at risk.
