Award for Distinguished Service
The IOM was presented with an Award for Distinguished Service by Safety Groups UK, at their annual Awards Luncheon at the House of Lords on 25th January. The award was presented by Lord Brougham & Vaux, President of Safety Groups UK, to Dr Phil Woodhead, Chief Executive of the IOM, in recognition of 40 years of outstanding contribution to the identification, assessment, monitoring and prevention of work-related ill health arising from chemical, physical, biological and psychological factors. Safety Groups UK is the co-ordinating body for the network of local Occupational Health and Safety Groups located throughout the UK. Its mission is to ensure the health and safety groups are key players in the UK health and safety system and in the delivery of UK health and safety strategy.
