Professor Russel Griggs receives OBE

Professor Russel Griggs receives his OBE from The Queen

Professor Russel Griggs was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to Scottish industry in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. He received the OBE from The Queen on 2nd December 2008.

Professor Griggs joined Scottish Enterprise in a business development role, and subsequently became an Executive Director in charge of investment and business development . At Scottish Enterprise he also ran Scotland the Brand and the Scottish Science Trust.

Since formally retiring, Professor Griggs has remained actively involved in Scottish business, sitting on company and educational boards and chairing the Institute of Occupational Medicine. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Glasgow in 2002 for services to industry and the University.
