IOA Certificate in Workplace Noise Assessment
This course is run over 5 days with the examination taking place on the final day. The aim of the Course is to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Understanding the requirements of the current and new legislation and regulations
- Understanding noise measuring equipment and its use in practice, and making satisfactory measurements of noise levels in workplaces
- Risk assessment based on daily noise exposure levels of employees derived from information on measured noise levels and work patterns
- Development of skills in decibel arithmetic
- Identifying situations where noise hazard exists
- Selecting suitable hearing protection
- Understanding basic noise control techniques
- Identifying areas where noise reduction is required
- Assessing the effectiveness of noise control measures
- Writing of reports on the assessment of noise in the workplace
Students are provided with comprehensive notes.
