IOM in SingaporeDate: 08 June 2012
IOM's Director of Strategic Consulting recently visited Singapore as part of IOM's business development activities in the region. While there he gave an invited talk on 'International Perspectives on Nanotechnology Risk Issues' at the 6th Industrial Symposium on Nanoimprint Lithography & Industry Session on Nanotechnology Standards at the A*STAR Institute for Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). The Institute has capabilities in materials analysis & characterisation, design & growth, patterning & fabrication, and synthesis & integration. It houses a range of state-of-the-art equipment for materials research including development, processing and characterisation.
The event was attended by more that 100 participants from industry, standardisation bodies and the technology sector generally. It provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the audience to current thinking on nanotechnology risk issues and how IOM is working with companies and with government and other international organisations to address them. Further meetings with IMRE are planned later in the year.
