Training
The IOM offers a wide range of effective training courses that are tailored to clients needs in a variety of industry sectors. We provide training and awareness sessions for employers and employees, designed to meet specific client requirements. Tutors have a wide experience of real problem-solving in real work places and are able to provide practical training, tailored to those attending the course. Courses are run at IOM headquarters and at our regional offices and also at clients' premises.
IOM can train your managers and site workers to conduct initial and interim health surveillance enquiries using medical questionnaires devised by IOM for this purpose. This allows certain health surveillance activities to be conducted in-house hence keeping costs down. Responsible person assessments require the support of an occupational health service to provide medical back-up. Our training course demonstrates how these assessments can dovetail with periodic health surveillance of the type offered for businesses by IOM clinical services.

Asbestos Awareness Training
The Control of Asbestos Regulations require persons who may come into contact with asbestos containing materials through their work to receive awareness training. Such persons may include; general maintenance staff, computing engineers, heating and ventilation engineers; fire and security alarm installers etc.
IOM can provide awareness training, both in your workplace, or at our offices located throughout the UK. The presentation lasts three hours and covers topics such as; properties of asbestos; materials containing asbestos; exposure prevention; management surveys and safe working practices.
The courses are tailored to include your own asbestos management procedures and give ample opportunity for staff to ask questions. A short question paper is included in the course to confirm understanding.
