Scottish Government Bill on Pleural Plaques
The IOM has registered its opposition to the Damages (Asbestos-related Conditions) (Scotland) Bill, which would open the way for compensation to be claimed for conditions such as pleural plaques.

Spray Booth UKAS Accreditation
The IOMs suite of services for the testing of personal protective equipment (PPE) has been extended by the commissioning of a new UKAS Accredited spray booth for the testing of protective suits
Need DSE Assessor Training for your organisation? IOM Consulting has a one day course scheduled in October at our Edinburgh Headquarters that will provide participants with all the necessary training to competently assess DSE (VDU) workstations.
The IOM recently made two new appointments at Board of Management level. Stuart Goddard has been appointed Director of Asbestos Services, and Christopher Beach has been appointed Director of Occupational Hygiene Services.
